The signature Buchinger Wilhelmi knife series stands for premium quality backed by the centuries-old “Made in Solingen” promise”. Each blade is made from German chrome vanadium molybdenum steel (DIN 1.4116) which offers exceptional edge retention and excellent rust resistance.

In Asia, the Santoku is the quintessential multi-purpose knife. Santoku is Japanese for “three uses”. This knife is therefore ideal for cutting fish, meat and vegetables.

Compared to a European chef’s knife, the Santoku comes with a thinner blade, which makes it lighter than its European counterpart. Its sharpness is a definite advantage.
The Santoku has a straight edge, which makes chopping and quick cutting a joy.

We have left nothing to chance in our choice of steel and selection of handle material. Drawing inspiration from our partner and supplier in Andalusia, we have chosen knife handles made from wild Andalusian olive wood. Each handle is individually selected and carefully chosen according to specifications on colour, grain and material strength. The unusual, natural grain of wild olive wood makes each knife truly unique.

We recommend oiling the wood regularly to keep it supple and protect it in the long term. Neutral food oils such as sunflower or linseed oil are appropriate for this purpose. Oiling replenishes natural protection and gives the wood a rich colour.
